* If you require crisis support or suicide prevention services please dial the emergency services number in your country of residence.

Hypnosis should not be considered as the primary therapy for treating depression.

The most effective treatment plan for depression is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In combination with prescribed medication from a doctor, weekly talk therapy sessions using CBT can lead to significant recovery within 12 weeks.

While Cognitive Hypnosis can be a complementary treatment option during the recovery journey from depression, it is important to note that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to treating depressive disorders. Depression encompasses a complex array of symptoms with multiple underlying causes. Cognitive Hypnosis (CH) combines hypnosis with cognitive behavior therapy, as the latter provides a solid foundation for incorporating evidence-based treatment techniques from various psychotherapies.

For early intervention in depression, it is crucial to take immediate action.

Let's be honest, Life can be better, when you're feeling heavy, lethargic or wondering if it's worth getting out of bed today? While I'm not an expert on depression or a depression-hypnotherapy expert, today I want to share with you a little ‘pick me up’. You deserve it - even if you don't think you do - you are fabulous, perfect in fact - you will manage, it will get better, help is available because people care, and I really care about you. Thank you for being here - you make the world a better place.

Weird thing is, when you think of the good old days - ‘baking holiday cookies’ (yum, Peanut Butter Blossoms), if you're depressed, those memories can become depressing. What? yes, normal memories can become distorted in a down-and-out, kinda way.  Say goodbye to looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses, it's more like seeing the world through the dark glasses of Tony Montana from the movie Scarface.

For example, the memories of baking holiday cookies (yum) the depressing voice inside your head starts, ‘I'm fat, I always eat too much’, ‘Why bother-no one eats my cookies’, ‘Everyone has peanut allergies so why put in unwanted effort’.

To get all technical, memories are first stored in the hippocampus (brain). Chemicals encode the memories, cementing long-term memory storage as a particular level of mind.’

Memories trigger a colossal chemical chain reaction throughout the body - forcing it to respond (in an auto-pilot kinda way). Now it seems like an impossible task to override Total-Recall? We've all experienced feeling a little moody, and the local-hamburger-joint,  no longer feels the same, just because - for some unknown reason. Now you know.

Only hypnosis has the ability to fast track - this (tiny bit) of depression with a technique called ‘Dissociation’. What people love about Dissociation is their thoughts become clearer and more detached, and life seems peaceful.

Here Is, The One Massive Depression Hypnosis Pick Me Up

Imagine, a crystal ball in your right hand.

Inside you can see the moon with planet earth.

Look closer and you can see your country.

If you look even closer you can see your town.

You can see yourself watching tv.

It's a different perspective.

Congratulations you have dissociated.

Dislocation, gets clients out of their head. This higher ground - allows them to bully those memories back to how they should be. From this ‘higher ground’ a master NLP practitioner might use quantum linguistics, where a ‘problem’ can be viewed from four different perspectives. For example; What's not the memory, what is the memory not, what is not the memory not, what the memory is.

To use the expression 'Any fly on the wall’ could observe thoughts from feelings, feelings from actions, past to the present, present from future, another person's perspective, left to right side, front to back. Hypnosis can make you the fly on the wall.

Other things to think about..

Mental Health apps

Frazzled, scattered, confused - ‘Mental Health Apps’ are the last thing you want to research in a crisis - Yuck! Overwhelm - If you don't know what app to use, you are not alone. It's estimated there are ten to twenty thousand Wellness Apps (mental health apps) out there in the known universe. Headspace and Calm are the most popular. Depression is serious, so you need the best app - Mindset is the number one mental health app for managing depression with proven results. It’s in Your Pocket! 24/7 help is instantly available! *If you are a health care practitioner, you can prescribe programs to your patients and monitor their progress. Health care professionals get free access.

A Friend Is In A Crisis -What Can You Do To Prepare For The Future?

Suicide - Hard to talk about - the moves needed to support a friend in need? Imagine feeling calm, confident and knowing the right technique to use in those ‘heavy moments’ - ASIST is the world’s leading suicide intervention workshop. Over 80,000 people in Australia have attended ASIST. Studies have proven that Suicidal callers who spoke to ASIST-trained-counsellors were 74% less likely to be suicidal (after the call) . Good news is it only takes Two days (15 hours) of training to complete the course - Anyone 16yrs or older can participate and if you don't want to do the course in English there are other languages available.

Telepsychiatry - Is It Any Good For Serious Conditions Like Depression?

It turns out Being physically present with a client does not appear essential to generating therapeutic outcomes - so knock yourself out on Zoom, Skype, Facetime. Telepsychiatry for the treatment of depression offers equal or better patient satisfaction and symptom relief compared with face-to-face interventions, according to a systematic review published online in Community Mental Health Journal.

COVID-19 - Its Kinda Not Over Because

There was a sharp increase in rates of depression and anxiety, so, be kind, people are still working through stuff, remember there were forced life changes, alterations in routines, anger, home schooling, increased financial pressures, social isolation, sadness, fears of getting sick, difficulty sorting out truth from fiction, increased use of alcohol and drugs and smoking, pandemic fatigue and comparative health risks.

If you do one thing different exercise..because exercise, has the equivalent effect of taking an antidepressant. I'm not saying end taking your medication (you need to keep on taking it). Take charge of what you can, make yourself feel better - increase the speed of your recovery. Even a walk around the block will do?  Start gradually.
